Step in while we’re building

We’ve brought the Foundation back to life—and now we need a nimble team to grow our visibility and events. If you’re into planning community/business expos, hosting networking nights, running social media, pitching stories, or creating photo/video and graphics, this is your lane. First-timers welcome; we’ll give you templates and clear roles.

Who is this ideal for? 

If you’re a natural connector who can plan an event, write a quick post, grab a few photos or make a quick reel, you’ll be right at home here. You'll only spend 2–4 hours a month, but your impact will be felt in classrooms, new sponsors, and more mini-grants funded. 

What the committee does

• Community Outreach: Build relationships with schools/PTOs and local businesses; table at community events to recruit volunteers, sponsors, and stories.
• Events: Plan and run our Business & Community Expo, pop-up school spotlights, and small networking events (venue, vendors, sponsors, run-of-show).
• Social Media: Keep Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn active with short updates, event promos, donor/teacher spotlights, and mini-grant wins.
• PR & Media: Draft quick press releases, build a local media list, pitch story ideas, and handle event advisories.
• Graphic Design & Web: Create flyers, social tiles, slide decks, and update the website with event pages and recaps.
• Videography & Photography: Capture short clips, carry out interviews, and take videos and photos at events/classrooms; assemble simple reels and 30–60s cuts.
   

Time commitment (realistic)

• Monthly huddle: 45–60 min (Zoom or in-person).
• Content cadence: 30–60 min/week to keep socials fresh (rotate among 2–3 people).
• Event sprints: +2–6 hours in the 2–3 weeks before an event; +2–4 hours during event week for setup, hosting, and recap.
  Estimated average: ~2–4 hrs/month, peaking to 6–10 hrs in event months.

• Events Lead / Logistics – timelines, vendor/sponsor coordination, run-of-show.
• Social Media Coordinator – content calendar, posting, basic community replies.
• PR & Media Liaison – press releases, media outreach, talking points 
• Graphic Designer – flyers, social tiles, simple signage
• Web Editor – create/update website pages and help keep content current.
• Photo/Video Storyteller – shoot short clips/photos; assemble quick reels.
• Sponsor Relations Helper – collect logos/copy, prep thank-you posts and signage.
